WEST AFRICA CLEAN ENERGY AND ENVIRONMENT (WACEE) FAIR

From the 11-12 November 2025, about 30 students and teachers from Don Bosco Solar department from DBTI Ashaiman-Tema together with DBYN and VIS representatives participated in the West African Clean Energy and Environment Trade Fair and Conference (WACEE’25) at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra – Ghana. The 2 days international event was under the theme “Greener Solution, Stronger Economy”.

The event form part of an activity implementation for Don Bosco Youth Network, West Africa within the skilling Eco-Vet project’s Work Package 5 (WP5). WACEE’ 2025 placed a strong emphasis on sustainability, encompassing a broad range of crucial topics such as Renewable Energy Solutions, Circular Economy and Waste Management, Green Financing and Investment, Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies, and Clean Transportation and Mobility.

The Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana, Dr. Michael Blank, together with the Ambassador of the European Union to Ghana, H.E. Rune Skinnebach, the German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Frederik Landshöft, who graced the event, highlighted the strong international collaboration behind clean energy and sustainability efforts.

Throughout the event, valuable connections were made, and new partnerships were established, laying the foundation for future business opportunities. The 2 days event featured engaging discussions, networking and showcases of innovative green technologies, setting a powerful tone for collaboration for placement of trainees and for the training institute.
