Dakar, 26 November 2025 – The Final Conference of Skilling Eco-VET took place at La Pouponnière de Dakar. The three-year initiative, co-funded by the European Union, aims to improve enabling environments for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana and Senegal.
During the event, partners presented the main achievements, lessons learned and tools developed over the project period. Activities focused on:
- strengthening the skills of teachers and trainers;
- improving the quality of TVET services;
- enhancing collaboration between institutions, schools and businesses;
- supporting young people’s pathways to employment;
- promoting innovative practices such as Peer Review, Green TVET and entrepreneurship.
Data collected show significant progress, with positive results in employability and the development of Work-Based Learning. At the same time, partners highlighted the need for continued investment in post-training support, strengthened partnerships with the private sector, and improved tracking of graduates’ trajectories.
On 27 November, the consortium visited the Don Bosco Vocational Training Centre in Thiès, meeting students and trainers and observing first-hand the project’s concrete impact in the workshops and technical departments.
At the end of the three years, Skilling Eco-VET not only leaves behind valuable tools and long-lasting capacities, but also demonstrates the transformative potential of international cooperation. The commitment and enthusiasm shared by partners point clearly to the future: the work initiated will continue to generate opportunities, innovation and growth for young people in Ghana and Senegal.
